I’m hoping to continually add to a list of websites and book suggestions that other mom’s have found useful. To start, below is one my favourite writings on being a loss mom. I hope you find it useful too. Please scroll down, to see more suggestions.

“It’s OK to not be OK” by Megan Divine -I have been recommended this book by many a loss mom. She also apparently runs online journal courses.

Healing your Grieving Heart” series by Alan D. Wolfelt -this author has dozens of books on specific griefs. There are separate books on both miscarriage and stillbirth. A friend who works in grief counselling recommended these to me and we will be using them on the retreat.

Empty Cradle, Broken Heart” by Deborah L. Davis, PH.D. -this was gifted to me by another loss mom on the retreat I went on back in 2017 and was incredibly insightful.

“The Year After” by Katy E. Martin -this book was published locally by another loss mom I had the honour of meeting on a retreat.

TALKING TO KIDS ABOUT DEATH -below are suggestions from one of our advisory board members. As a mama bear with no living children, I am so glad to have another mom’s advice on this one:

“Water Bugs and Dragonflies” by Doris Stickney
“When Someone has a Very Serious Illness” by Marqe Heegaard
